CHIVALRY 2 - TIPS & TRICKS
Tips/Tricks/Tweaks
Mouse Problems
You need to disable mouseSmoothing in this game, or lower your polling rate to 500hz or lower, otherwise you will have a massive negative acceleration.
Insert in following file, following code:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Chivalry 2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Input.ini[/Script/Engine.InputSettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=FalseToggle HUD
If you feel overwhelmed by the visual stimuli, consider inserting the following into your input.ini:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Chivalry 2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Input.iniActionMappings=(ActionName="togglehud",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=F4)In this example you will toggle the HUD with F4 on your keyboard. You can change the key to whatever you want.
To me this causes a drastical shift in focus, and increases my fighting performance noticably!
Make sure you set the file to write-protected after saving it, so the game doesn't override it again on startup.
WARNING: Constantly toggling the HUD might bug the HUD/Game temporarily, there is ways to fiddle it back to working, you will figure it out! Usually it helps to hit enter for the chat or retoggle it a few times.
Override DLSS
You should really override the DLSS being used in this game, with the help of the Nvidia APP or NvidiaProfileInspector.
It does really help with visual clarity and improves performance!
I think preset L is the best, but you can try M as well. It should be pretty much self explaining how to do it.
In the Nvidia APP, you will do it under the settings of the game, if you scroll down far enough, you will see it. Use quality, balance, whatever you like, just make sure override is enabled and you use Preset L or M (newest).
In NvidiaProfileInspector, you will search for the games profile in the dropdownmenu (Chivalry2), then type into the big search bar below "DLSS". Use quality, balance, whatever you like, just make sure override is enabled and you use Preset L or M (newest).
As I said, you can pick whatever you like, but for clarity with a small performance boost, I recommend using quality, combined with preset L. Since it gives you the most clean look, and preset L is good for compensating ghosting, which is common for DLSS.
You could also use performance or balanced, for a bigger performance gain, but do keep in mind, it will make the visuals more blurry.
Pro Tip: You can do this with every game that supports DLSS, but doesn't feature the new presets in the options.
